3 Miles From Providence is a central Arkansas area rock band originally formed in 2007 by singer Lucas Smith and guitarist James Roberson. With the addition of drummer Ryan Davidson and bassist Clay Hoffman, 3MFP began their catalog of music. After performing at many central Arkansas venues such as the famous Juanita's Cantina and the Revolution Music Room in Little Rock, the band added Josh Dixon on the rhythm guitar. In the summer of 2009, 3MFP booked a rigorous schedule, playing shows every week while still writing new material and working full time jobs. 2009 included shows all over Arkansas and surrounding states. The band traveled to Dallas, Texas to record their first professional single titled "Brutally Honest" in June of 2009. After receiving moderate air time on the Little Rock based radio station 100.3 THE EDGE, 3MFP traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to expand their EP with the help of producer Robert Venable (Disciple, Pillar, Megadeth). After lineup changes in 2010, the band returned to Off The Wall Studio in Nashville to finish up their debut EP. The finishing tracks included a cameo appearance by Disciple lead guitarist Brad Noah on the song "Thanks 2 You."
The years to come would include a few lineup changes as well as continuously performing and writing.
The band has since added lead guitarist Greg Iler and is in full force including all of the original members. The band released their EP titled "To The Ones" on June 8, 2018. It was recorded and produced at Wolfman Studio in Little Rock, AR. 3MFP has shared the stage with national touring bands such as BAD WOLVES, FROM ASHES TO NEW, DIAMANTE, FUTURE LEADERS OF THE WORLD, CROBOT, and Canadian Grammy Award winners KIROS. Currently, the band is recording their first full-length album which is being produced by John LeCompt (Evanescence, Machina, We Are The Fallen) at RedRoom Studio in Benton, AR.
